Yerevan, December 27 /Mediamax/. On January 15 of 2008, the winner of the tender on concessive management of “Armenian Railroad” Company will be announced, Minister of Transport and Communication Andranik Manukian stated in Yerevan today.

Speaking at a news conference in Yerevan today, Andranik Manukian stated that the only participant of the tender is the “Russian Railroads” JSC, which presented an investment proposal at the volume of 174.5bln drams ($570 mln), instead of the minimal $170mln.

The Minister noted that in case of unblocking of the Armenian-Turkish border by 2009, the “Russian Railroads” JSC is ready to increase the volume of investments for 10bln drams.

Andranik Manukian informed that on December 28 the expert assessment of the financial proposal of the Russian side will take place, however the “Russian Railroads” JSC in fact can be already considered the winner of the tender.

“Armenian Railroad” JSC is handed over to concessive management for the term of 30 years with the right of prolongation for additional 20 years.
