Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has ordered the arrest of Spayka CEO David Ghazaryan for a period of two months.Ghazaryan is accused of large-scale tax evasion, a crime falling under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Armenian Criminal Code (evasion from taxes, duties or other mandatory payments). According to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Spayka owes the state AMD 7,036,666,312 in taxes and customs duties.The employees of the company are protesting in front of the court building and insisting they “will not leave without David Ghazaryan”.Earlier, Ghazaryan issued a statement saying that “the committee is persecuting the company I head for no good reason”.
