Yerevan, November 12 /Mediamax/. During the III quarter of 2007, there were 1.136.674 operations by plastic cards at the whole sum of 55936mln AMD realized on the territory of Armenia.

As Mediamax was told in the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, the volume of non-cash payments with the use of plastic cards made 5049mln AMD.

The number of cards, being in circulation by the end of the III quarter of 2007, made 281.729, which is 1.12 times more (30.963 cards), as compared to the end of the II quarter.

By the end of the III quarter of 2007, the number of ArCa [Armenian Card] cards increased 1.13 times (15.082 cards more) as compared to the end of the II quarter, thus making 128.527.

The number of cards of international systems during the accounting period on the whole increased for 1.12 times (15.881 cards more). The number of VISA cards increased by 11.919 cards (1.11 times), thus making 116.021, and the number of MasterCard cards increased 1.17 times (2.745 cards), thus making 18.748.

During the III quarter of 2007, 519.311 operations at the whole sum of 18806mln AMD were realized using ArCa cards. The volume of operations grew by 2864mln AMD (1.18 times) as compared to the II quarter of 2007.

The volume of operations, carried out with the use of VISA cards by the end of the III quarter of 2007, made 24096mln AMD (374.383 operations), and with the use of MasterCard - 5386mln AMD (88.350 operations). As compared to the II quarter of 2007, the indices increased correspondingly by 4301mln and 744mln AMD.

There were 154.630 operations at the whole sum of 7648mln AMD realized with the use of other international cards during the accounting period, which is for 1167mln AMD more than in the II quarter of 2007.

During the III quarter of 2007, there were on average 1.3 operations monthly realized with the use of one ArCa card. The average volume of one operation made 36 thousand AMD, the index having increased by 5 thousand AMD, as compared to the II quarter of 2007.

By the end of the III quarter of 2007, there were 20 banks in Armenia, providing and operating plastic cards, at that 19 out of the 20 mentioned are members of the ArCa payment system.
