Armenian President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree today on the appointment of Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister of Armenia. According to the acting Constitution of Armenia, the National Assembly does not elect the PM, but “the President of the Republic immediately appoints as Prime Minister the candidate, nominated by the majority in the parliament after its formation.” The Government will be formed within a period of fifteen days following the appointment of the Prime Minister.
