Yerevan, September 12 /Mediamax/. The Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC), which makes part of the international Pernod Ricard Group, plans to purchase 29 thousand tons of grapes this year. Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan today, the President and General Director of YBC Cedric Retailleau stated that the purchase season starts on September 15. YBC will start purchasing grapes at the price of 133 drams per 1 kg of grapes. Cedric Retailleau stressed that this year the YBC will pay special attention to the quality of the purchased raw materials, and aiming at this, large investments were made to improve the system of acceptance and storage of the grapes. “We attach great importance to the development of our branches, and the opening of a branch in Bourastan this year aims at getting closer to the grapes and making the transportation of the grapes an easier process”, the Head of the Company stated. Cedric Retailleau stated that the YBC ties great hopes with the Tavush region, which has mild climatic conditions. It is expected that this year the YBC will purchase 3500 tons of grapes in Tavush instead of the 3000, which were purchased last year. Tweet Views 5870
