First Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan has said that the government plans to return the assets stolen from Armenia.“It is no secret that corrupt, embezzled public funds and other illegally obtained assets are often transferred from the corrupt state to the so-called “safe havens”, countries where they are kept securely.World Bank and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) founded the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR) to end this illegal practice.I have applied today to World Bank leadership with the request for StAR to provide consulting and technical support, so that Armenia can launch the process of identifying and returning the assets stolen from our country and stored in safe havens,” said Ararat Mirzoyan.
