Yerevan, July 12 /Mediamax/. The number of subscribers of “VivaCell” mobile operator exceeded the point of 1mln, and the company covers 67% of the market of mobile connection of Armenia.

Mediamax reports that the given numbers were voiced today by the General Director of VivaCell Ralph Yirikian, who was speaking at a news conference in Yerevan, dedicated to the second anniversary of the company’s work on the market.

He noted that “in November of 2005, the company had opportunity to maintain only 400 thousand subscribers, however in December of 2005, VivaCell had already doubled the capabilities of its network all around the country”. According to Yirikian, by the end of 2006, the number of the company’s subscribers had already exceeded 65% of the market.

Ralph Yirikian expressed confidence that VivaCell is the leader on the market of mobile connection in Armenia.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of VivaCell Pierre Fattouch stated that at present the specialists of the company carry our work to extend the possibilities of the network, which will allow maintaining up to 1.5mln subscribers.

Pierre Fattouch stated that the investments in VivaCell made $250mln in the course of the recent two years, and the investments will be continued. Chairman of the Board of Directors noted that in the nearest future VivaCell will offer its subscribers services of mobile connection of third generation (3G).
