Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan asked Minister of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan when he will present the 2036 long-term development program for energy sector.Ashot Manukyan noted that his ministry already presented the program and received comments from the government, including the Public Services Regulatory Commission.According to him, they are in talks with Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance about creating a stabilization fund, which will allow keeping electricity prices on the current level until 2036.“That is a rather ambitious program and idea. We’re trying to find means to ensure a stabilization fund. That would allow us to say and even state with certainty that the prices won’t be affected in the next decade or more. We will try to neutralize impact of external factors as well,” Ashot Manukyan said, stressing that the reviewed long-term development program for the energy sector will be presented to the government until September.
