Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan said that “tax officers and other controlling officials should not be perceived as a tool of punishment, penalty and forfeit”.

According to Karen Karapetyan, tax officers should offer consultation and preventive means, encourage and help business people in bringing their activity to the established requirements.

Armenian PM noted that creation of such cooperation requires formation and introduction of feedback mechanisms.

“Our tax agencies should organize the first inspections and provide suggestions on what business entities can do to comply with requirements. They will be given a time period to fill their gaps. If we see that they don’t, we apply according regulations,” Karen Karapetyan said.
