The Visa International system accepted as full members two more Azerbaijani banks – Technikabank and Azerigazbank.

Mediamax reports quoting Trend that Atabank is also in the process of joining the members of the Visa system.

At present, there are over 20 Azerbaijani banks, which are Visa members.

As of late November of 2006, the Azerbaijani issuers issued 1,3mln Visa cards, and the turnover with the use of those cards made $820,2mln. Thus, Azerbaijan entered the five of the most actively developing markets of the Visa cards in the CIS.

From September 2003 to September 2006, the Azerbaijani Visa member-banks increased the number of the Visa cards, functioning in the country, 48 times.

There are already 600 thousand social cards of Azerbaijan issued on the basis of Visa Electron cards, which allows the state to optimize the process of realization of social payments.
