Yerevan, January 10 /Mediamax/. Armenian President Robert Kocharian held a working meeting today, where the main tasks of the State Tax Service and the State Customs Committee of Armenia for 2007 were being considered. As Mediamax was told in the presidential press service today, the President said that the aim of the meeting is to reestablish the working order after the New Year holidays and to remind that “the budget-2007 provides for hard work, large growth of tax proceeds, which may be secured at the expense of purposeful and, to some extent, tough work”. According to the President, “it is necessary to realize: are you ready to fulfill the tasks set for you by means of improvement and toughening of administration?” According to the Armenian President, the main peculiarity of this year will be the fact that the work of the tax and customs bodies will be assessed in the first place comparing to the analogous indices of other countries. The main index of the effectiveness of the work will be the percentage ratio of the budget proceeds to the GDP, Robert Kocharian stated. “During the recent meeting with entrepreneurs I noted that the indices improve year by year, however, when we compare our indices with the countries of Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, it turns out that you do a bad job. This year your work will be assessed by that very comparison”, Armenian President stressed. The Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian, Minister of Economy and Finance Vartan Khachatrian, Head of Police Haik Harutiunian, the Director of the National Security Service Gorik Hakopian, Heads of the State Tax Service and State Customs Committee Felix Tsolakian and Armen Avetisian took part in the meeting.
