Starting from 2007, Georgia will start cooperating with three major international banks - the Asian Development Bank, Council of Europe Development Bank and the European Investment Bank.

“News-Georgia” was told about this in the Georgian Finance Ministry.

With the membership in the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Georgia will gain access to a wide spectrum of grants and lax credits.

The membership in the Council of Europe Development Bank will give Georgia the opportunity to receive long-term credits – with terms up to 20 years and lax period of 5-7 years.

Entering the European Investment Bank will give Georgia the opportunity to receive lax credits by low interest rates with terms of 4-20 years. In the cooperation with the EIB the stress will be put on the transport and energy spheres, telecommunications and social infrastructure.
