International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) found out that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has offshores for concealment of shares in gold mines and London realty. RBC informs about this.According to the documents that ICIJ found at their disposal, Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban purchased Rosamund International Ltd on British Virgin Islands in 2003. Aliyev, who was pointed as the firm’s director and co-owner, worked as a deputy in the Parliament at that moment and became the President of Azerbaijan in October that year. According to ICIJ data, the company had legal status until May 2004. Thus, Aliyev violated the law that prohibits Parliament members and President to have a business.Aliyev’s daughters 19-year old Arzu and 23-year-old Leyla bought Arbor Investments, LaBelleza Holdings Limited and Harvard Management Limited on British Virgin Islands as well. The deal was made two months after Aliyev was reelected as the President. Tweet Views 19793
