Yerevan, December 20 /Mediamax/. The National Center for Productivity and Competitiveness opened in Armenia today. Mediamax reports that the Chairman of the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union of Armenia Arsen Ghazarian stated that at the beginning, the Center will function under the Union, and in the future will be able to function independently. The goals of the Center are to educate, to provide consulting services to entrepreneurs, and to analyze the tendencies of economy development. The Chairman of the Central Bank (CB) of Armenia Tigran Sarkisian stated that productivity and competitiveness play an important role in modern economy. He noted that today the productivity of an Armenian citizen is a few times less than the indices of an average European citizen. The CB Head stated that qualitative changes in the Armenian economy should be held in the nearest 5-7 years. “It is a painful process – realizing it, one should pay special attention to the intellectual part and form an army of professional managers”, Tigran Sarkisian stated.
