Yerevan, December 8 /Mediamax/. Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated in Yerevan today that in 2007 he will be “much more exacting” to the bodies, responsible for the collection of state incomes, expecting “qualitative changes” in their work. As Mediamax was told in the presidential press service, Robert Kocharian said this today, at the work meeting with the participation of the Armenian Prime Minister, Ministers of Finance and Economy, Trade and Economic Development, the Chairman of the Central Bank, the Heads of the Tax Service and the Customs Committee. Robert Kocharian stressed that the realization of a number of programs by the government in 2007 will much depend on the effectiveness of the work of the customs and tax bodies. According to the President, a serious growth of the incomes is planned for the next year, and “we have to be sure that the reforms will continue, and the planned work will be carried out in a high-quality manner”. Robert Kocharian noted that fort he latest 1-2 years there is certain work done on improving the tax and customs administration, however the situation in that sphere is yet far from being considered satisfactory. Noting that the tax proceeds do not correspond to the factual potential, Robert Kocharian demanded paying attention to the elimination of the gaps in the tax policy, the provision of equal conditions for all the participants of the market.
