The Iranian Vice-President will visit Armenia in the coming month to return the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Raisi told journalists about it today. He noted that issues related to the third high-voltage electric power station will be discussed at the meeting and added that the visit of such a level will have its impact on the jumpstart of new cooperation. The Ambassador also touched upon the impact the removal of sanctions against Iran might have on the Armenian economy. “One of the principal areas of Iran’s policy is cooperation with neighboring countries. We have very good relations with Armenia, which we will develop even more. I believe there are various areas of cooperation between Armenian and Iran. A number of projects have been signed to date, which, however, have not implemented,” said Mohammad Raisi adding that the implementation of a number of programs will have positive impact on Armenia. Touching upon the directions of the programs, the Ambassador noted that Armenia will serve as a corridor linking the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea and at the same time said that the construction of that corridor might take long. “It refers to Iran-Armenia railway, which assumes a large investor. The Ministry of Roads and Transportation of Iran has held several sessions and a number of negotiations were carried on, but to date there has not been any large investor,” said Mohammad Raisi.Touching upon EEU-Iran relations, the Ambassador said that the EEU is quite a large market for Iran.
