As of 30 June 2006, the total volume of assets of Georgia’s banking system totaled 3,3bln lari (approximately $1,8bln) - 75% more as compared to the same period 2005, the Black Sea Press was told in the National Bank of Georgia. The shareholding capital of Georgian banks during the accounting period has grown by 36%, the net income making 38mln lari, having increased by 51% against the same period of last year. As of 30 June 2006, the total volume of deposits in Georgian banks stood at 1bln 551mln lari - 57% more than last year. The volume of deposits in lari has grown by 107%, and by 42,9% in U.S. dollars. The level of dollarization of deposits has decreased by 8,1 points, making 66,4% against 74,5% in 2005. As of 30 June 2006, the total volume of loans allocated by Georgian banks stood at 2,2bln lari - 85% more as compared to the same period 2005.
