Tinkoff launched the Tinkoff Pay instant payment service, which will allow customers to pay for goods and services online in web and offline stores without entering card details. TASS reports that Tinkoff stated about this in a news release.

Currently payments are available in more than 30 thousand online stores which are the partners of Tinkoff Cashier. Payment with the use of the service is possible from a computer as well. To do this, it is necessary to scan a QR code with a smartphone, which will transfer the buyer to the Tinkoff application to confirm the payment.

Also, customers will be able to pay for purchases without going into the app and without QR codes in case they are authorized in stores through the Tinkoff ID service, which will be launched later in 2022. In addition, Tinkoff’s biometric technologies will be integrated into Tinkoff Pay.

“There will be integration with the superapp, cards of other banks, the Tinkoff ID service, which we will also be launched soon for partners. That is, everything that we are used to in our lives will be available from Tinkoff Pay,” the bank’s press service quoted Vice President of Tinkoff Sergey Khromov as saying.

Tinkoff also stressed that clients of the Tinkoff ecosystem, who have a mobile application installed, can use the service and in the near future clients of other banks as well will be able to link their cards to the service. Initially, payments via Tinkoff Pay will be available online, and later offline for Tinkoff customers. “Other technologies of the service will be launched in stages during 2022-2023,” the news release says.



To note, in March Gazprombank developed GazpromPay payment system for making payments when using online stores. It works with the cards of all Russian banks and supports all devices that have access to Internet

The bank said in a statement that the system allows customers to link existing bank cards, as well as issue virtual cards for instant purchases. There will be no need to install additional apps to use the system.
