Users of Apple smartphones, who have shown interest in Apple Card virtual banking card, started to receive on August 6 invitations for registration in the system, Reuters writes.

Users of iPhone will be able to get their Apple Card via Wallet app. The card owners will receive 1% cash back on purchases with physical cards, 2% cash back on purchases with the Apple Pay and 3% - on purchases and services of Apple.


Apple Card is made of titan and has no visible number. The protected chip within iPhone generates virtual number of the card for online purchases or purchases with the help of smartphone.

Chief Executive Officer of Apple Tim Cook and Apple’s Vice President of Internet Services Jennifer Bailey informed earlier that the cardholders will access the data about the sum of the payment, as well as the time and place of transactions, while specialists of the company will not access that information.

Goldman Sachs investment bank, which is the partner of Apple in this project, will not be able to use the data about the purchases of Apple Card holders for marketing purposes.
