Sberbank has patented a “smart” refrigerator that can monitor the quantity of food and its shelf life. Vedomosti reports that Sberbank’s fridge is equipped with sensors and cameras that monitor the condition, quantity and expiration date of the food and transfer the collected data to the user via the mobile app or web interface.The user can decide which products to buy or make automated orders. The refrigerator is able to connect with other devices via WiFi or 2G and 3G.The weight sensors assess the weight of the shelves and the food placed on them. Additionally, the fridge can feature gas sensors to detect bad food.
