Yerevan /Mediamax/. Gazprom is holding talks on possible decrease in gas price for Armenia.Gazprom spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov said this on "Echo of Moscow" radio station. "The prices really grew and we are holding talks on how to decrease them. We understand how we can reach lower prices", said Kupriyanov. He noted that it may be reached by increasing the share of Gazprom in ArmRosGazprom. "Maybe we will be increasing the share and it will allow us decrease the price", he said.It was noted at the meeting of Head of Gazprom Aleksey Miller and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia June 17 that there is a possibility of increasing Gazprom’s share in ArmRosGazprom from 80% up to 100%.Speaking about the price reduction, Sergey Kupriyanov is likely to mean not the price at which Russia sells gas to Armenia but the price at which the gas will be supplied to consumers. According to publications of the Armenian media, selling of 20% shares of ArmRosGazprom will allow the Armenian government to attract funds necessary for subsidizing the increase in price for Russian gas.According to Mediamax's information, the session of Board of Shareholders of ArmRosGazprom will be held in Yerevan today.
