Head of the Regional Program for Small Business Support of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBDR) Jaap Sprey will focus on female entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in marzes in near future.Jaap Sprey said this during an event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of operation of Regional Program for Small Business Support of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Armenia, Mediamax reports."As a result of the EU-funded program, 930 projects have been implemented so far involving over 130 advisors. The companies using the program demonstrate increase in turnover, work efficiency and number of employees", said Jaap Sprey.Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea noted in his turn that the SME development is one of the EU priorities: "The EU is going to provide more support to the development of private sector in Armenia in the coming financial cycle (2014-2020)", he said. "Armenia's business sector of versatile and fast-growing and the support is of big importance to the Armenian economy", noted the Head of the EBRD Armenian Office Valeriu Razlog. Executive Director of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Armenia Arayik Vardanyan also attached importance to the operation of the program: "It managed to support and pave way for a number of businessmen", he said.
