Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia is one of the leaders in  the development of small and medium enterprise throughout the CIS. It's a strong point of the Armenian economy and it should be boosted, stated Chairman of Executive Board of Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Igor Finogenov.

He said that the EDB portfolio in Armenia currently makes USD94mln and the bank will continue seeking spheres attractive for the investments both in small and medium and big business in Armenia.

"We are currently considering projects of funding the development of polymetallic deposits, high-technology logistics center as well as fish breeding sphere. We are surprised that Armenian retains one of the leading positions in the regions in fish breeding", noted Igor Finogenov.


Touching upon the re-launch of Nairit factory which implied EDB participation, Igor Finogenov pointed out the necessity of holding of considerable volume of preparatory technical works to make sure of the validity of the project. "Taking into account the fact that Russian ITERA company is interested in making investments into  Nairit, the project may be effective. We also know that Armenia turned to EurAzEC anti-crisis fund with an pre-application for Nairi funding", said the head of the EDB. --0--
