Yerevan/Mediamax/. At today’s session, the Armenian government cancelled the decision on obligatory certification made earlier.Under the decision, the Armenian legislation is harmonized to EU standards - the provision on Free Movement of Goods in particular. “We fixed in the government’s program adopted by the National Assembly yesterday that the Armenian food should be secure. Now canceling the procedures under the decision, we won’t create risks to that security. The logic of the changes is as follows: all the companies producing goods should have internal control - laboratories. They should monitor how many dangerous elements there are in the production on a regular basis. And if we carry out control based on risks we should first of all be sure that they have those internal control systems. Secondly, if we discover any dangerous food on the market it will mean that the enterprises don’t run their security system properly and they will be fined in this case. This is the logic. We shift from a formal monitoring to assessment of tangible risks”, said Tigran Sargsyan. Tweet Views 5724
