Yerevan/Mediamax/.  Nagorno Karabakh registered 6% economic growth as of the first half-year of 2011.

NKR Minister of Economic Development Karen Yesayan stated this today, Mediamax reports.

“The economy of Artsakh has ensured double digit economic growth starting from 2003 and only 2010 was an exception. There are all the prerequisites for ensuring double digit growth this year”, said Karen Yesayan.

The Minister informed that a total amount of AMD 50 bln foreign investments (mainly in the banking system) were made in the NKR in the first quarter of 2011.

According to Karen Yesayan, the investments were also made in the energy sector, agricultural and tourism spheres which were announced by the government as priority areas.
