Yerevan/Mediamax/. Areximbank-Gazprombank Group will start issuing chip cards by the end of the year.

As Mediamax was told in the bank’s press service, Areximbank is undergoes relevant certification with Visa and MasterCard.

Bank’s Deputy Director Ruben Khachatrian said that the bank serves 25 000 active cards and plans to increase the number by 30%. The number of cards issued by the bank in the first quarter of 2011 has grown by 24-25%, as compared to the same period of 2010.

The total volume of transactions through Areximbank cards during the first quarter of 2011 made AMD 9,3bln against AMD 7,96bln of the same period last year.
