Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsian said today that due to complex measures, in the nearest months definite achievements will be made on macroeconomic indices and deterrence of inflation.

Mediamax reports that the President said this at today’s meeting with the heads of commercial banks of Armenia.

“Banks can significantly influence our economic policy through their credit policy. There is trilateral profit here: the banking system, private enterprises and the state. Yesterday I got familiar in detail with the indices of the banking system: the indices for the first quarter impress very much. We should continue this tendency and the state will always try to find the corresponding stimuli”, the President stressed.

Touching upon crediting of agriculture, the President noted:

“We will continue measures in the given direction. I am asking the Chairman of the Central Bank and all you to be extremely consistent as to this issue and do everything possible so that credit resources not only reach agriculture, but also be used for their purpose, namely for agricultural works”, Armenian President said.
