- Armenian President stated at the Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum that the government works over establishment of special conditions for innovation enterprises. Shortly before that, the President stated the possibility of providing tax benefits to innovation companies. What steps are made in the given directions?

- The government uses three main tools. The first represents the already famous benefits for enterprises on delaying the value added tax (VAT) payment while importing equipment at the cost of over AMD 300mln.

The second tool is the law on free economic zones (FEZ), which has overcome the first reading in the parliament. This is quite an ambitious project for Armenia, within the framework of which benefits will be provided to FEZ participants. In particular, the matter concerns exemption from profit taxes and VAT both during import and export of products. This provides for thorough selection of FEZ participants, and the preference will be given to companies, which use high technology solutions for organizing production.
