Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia’s economic activity index in March 2011 has remained at the same level, as last year.

Mediamax reports that since early 2011, instead of publishing the GDP growth and decrease index, the National Statistical Service of Armenia publishes the economic activity index.

According to the latest report, the adjusted index of economic activity growth in February made 4% (the non –adjusted index made 1.4%).

The volume of industrial production in March made AMD 76bln 904.6mln, having increased by 5.9% as compared to March 2010.

2% decrease, as compared to March 2010, was marked in the agricultural sector (AMD 24bln 524.6mln). 5.2% decline was registered in the construction sphere (AMD 23bln 363mln).

The retail trade turnover increased by 5% (143bln 391.4mln), as compared to March 2010; the volume of services (without trade) reduced by 7.4% (AMD 65bln 167.4mln).

The average monthly salary in Armenia in March 2011 has grown by 5.5%, as compared to 2010, thus making AMD 111 915.

 

In March 2011 Armenian export grew by 21,8%

Yerevan, April 20. /Mediamax/. Armenia’s foreign trade turnover in March 2011 made $430.3mln or AMD 158.5bln, having increased by 14,1% as compared to the same period of 2010.

As Mediamax was told in the National Statistical Service of Armenia today, the export volume grew by 21.8%, making AMD 34bln or $92.2mln during the accounting period. The import volume in March 2011 grew by 12.2% as compared to same period of last year making AMD 125.5bln or $338.1mln.

The deficit of foreign trade balance in March 2011 made AMD 90.5bln (growth by AMD 23.2bln against February) or $245.9mln.
