Yerevan/Mediamax/. Insurance companies comment on the plans of the Armenian government to involve them into vehicle maintenance checkup process.

“Vehicle maintenance checkup is a very important condition for concluding a Compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance (CTP) and Casko agreement, and the condition on technical order of the vehicle is set in a separate point in the insurance agreement,” Director of “INGO Armenia” Insurance Company, Levon Altunyan, said in the interview to Mediamax.

He noted that the thorough vehicle checkup is critically important for insurance companies, as after the car accident the insurer has the right to conduct another maintenance checkup to find out possible technical reasons of the accident.

Director General of “Nairi Insurance” Company, Gor Khachatrian, said in the interview to Mediamax that the role of insurance companies might consist in the indirect control over the points of vehicle checkup.

“CTP allows to demand return of compensation in case the damage was caused as a result of technical malfunction, which should have been detected during the vehicle checkup,” Gor Khachatrian said.
