Yerevan/Mediamax/. In February, 2011, index of Armenia’s economic activity increased by 1.4%, as compared to February, 2010.

The adjusted index of economic activity growth in January made 6.6%.

Mediamax reports that from the beginning of 2011, National Statistical Service of Armenia has been publishing the index of economic activity instead of GDP growth/decline index.

The volume of industrial output made AMD 68bln 950.7mln, having increased by 2.6%, as compared to February, 2010.

0.1% growth is registered in agriculture (20bln 16.9mln) as compared to February 2010, and 4.1% decline is registered in construction sphere (12bln 27.1mln).

Turnover of retail trade increased by 0.1% (121bln 797.8mln) as compared to February 2010, the volume of services (excluding trade) increased by 6.3% (57bln 853.9mln).

Armenian export increased by 32% in February, 2011

Yerevan, March 21. /Mediamax/. Foreign trade turnover in Armenia made USD 364.5mln or AMD 133.1bln in February, 2011, having increased by 12.4%, as compared to the same period of 2010.

Mediamax was informed in the National Statistical Service of Armenia today that the volume of export increased by 32%, making AMD 32.9bln or USD 90mln in the accounting period. Import increased by 7.2% in February, 2011, as compared to the analogous period of 2010, and made AMD 100.2bln AMD or USD 274.5mln.

Foreign trade balance deficit made 67.3bln AMD in February 2010 (decrease by 1.6bln AMD) or USD 184.5mln (decrease by USD 4.5mln).
