Yerevan/Mediamax/. Inflation is not an Armenian or Georgian phenomenon, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian stated today. Mediamax reports that, speaking at the joint news conference today with his Georgian counterpart Nika Gilauri, who is in Yerevan for a one-day visit, Tigran Sargsian stated that in order to combat inflation, both countries apply known tools. According to the Prime Minister, “inflation is a serious challenge for the entire world economy, and no new mechanisms have been invented yet in order to mitigate its negative influence”. Armenian Prime Minister stated that the government takes up certain measures, such as increase of pensions and social payments. Tigran Sargsian reminded that the government launched a program of subsidizing agriculture, directed at assisting insecure layers of the rural population. Nika Gilauri stated that analogous measures are applied in Georgia as well. In particular, certain layers of the population have been provided vouchers for electricity and foodstuffs. Tweet Views 6665
