Yerevan/Mediamax/. President and Prime Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) convoked a meeting concerning increase of prices and the situation in the market of bread.

Mediamax reports that NKR President Bako Sahakyan noted that the tendency of price growth has negative influence on the social situation of the population and stated the necessity to “mitigate the process”.

NKR President considered it important to first of all mitigate the growth of prices for foodstuffs, especially highlighting the necessity of preserving the prices for bread.

Mediamax was informed in NKR government today that at the meeting with producers of bread and flour, Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan stated that price increase for bread products should be interrupted “with the use of the existing capacities and by coordination of actions”. Prime Minister stated that there is the special order of NKR President to return to previous prices for bread since February 9 and not to allow increase of prices.

In case of necessity, the state will take up adequate measures for managing subjects not to bear losses, Ara Harutyunyan stated. In particular, he stated that a maximum price for flour will be set up for the nearest months, due to which they will manage to deter the growth of prices.

Ara Harutyunyan stated that before the harvest of 2011, export of wheat outside NKR will be banned. At that he warned that the state will establish strictest control over bread production sphere, control over the quality and quantity indices of bread products.
