Yerevan/Mediamax/. By 2013, Armenia intends to enter the list of top 20 countries as to easiness of doing business, Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan stated. Speaking at “Direct Foreign Investments in Armenia” Forum in Yerevan today, Nerses Yeritsyan presented the program of Armenian government’s economic policy, noting that the government is open for dialogue and ready to demonstrate flexibility, basing on the needs of this or that sector of economy. In this contest, Minister of Economy stressed that Armenia, while reforming its business environment, is more oriented not to the experience of other countries, but to its own peculiarities and own mistakes. Speaking to Mediamax correspondent on priority directions, which will be taken as a basis to facilitate doing business in Armenia, Nerses Yeritsyan stated that the main emphasis will be put on facilitating the load of reporting by enterprises and issuance of permissions for construction. Answering the question why the Armenian government does not want to follow the example of Georgia in the sphere of facilitating conditions for doing business, Nerses Yeritsyan stated that “there are investments, which require better regulation and not full liberalization”. According to him, the task of the Armenian government is to attract investments, which will contribute to high quality transformation of the country’s economy, namely – to attracting large transnational corporations to Armenia and securing investments for realization of ideas, which are born in Armenia. “Improvement of conditions for doing business does not yet mean investments are attracted or the task of quality transformation of economy is solved”, Minister stated.
