The minimum cost for purchasing annual insurance policies for CIVOCL (Compulsory Insurance of Vehicle Owner’s Civil Liability) in Armenia will make 26 130 AMD (about USD 72), and the maximum one – 124 325 AMD (about USD 344). Mediamax reports referring the draft of tariffs of the Armenian Bureau of Car Insurers that the minimum tariff is established for private use passenger cars with the engine capacity of up to 70 horsepower, the drivers of which are over 23 years and have a driver’s experience of over 3 years. In case if the passenger car’s engine is 71-140 horsepower and 141-230 horsepower, the cost of annual contracts will make 37 329 and 47 408 AMD respectively. For experienced drivers of superpower passenger cars (over 231 horsepower), the cost of CIVOCL policy will make 54 127 AMD. The cost of insurance of liability, based on operation of public transport means (trolleybuses and buses), ranges from 42 thousand to 62 thousand AMD, trucks – from 43 thousand to 63 thousand AMD, company cars – from 27 thousand to 89 thousand AMD, taxi (including fixed-run taxis) – from 37.5 thousand to 124.3 thousand AMD. The final tariffs will be approved by October 18, when sale of CIVOCL policies is initiated in Armenian insurance companies.
