Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian government made amendments and changes to the decision, made on May 20, on renaming spirits of “brandy” category. Mediamax reports that the Minister of Agriculture of Armenia Gerasim Alaverdyan reminded that in May they made a decision on renaming “Armenian brandy” into “arbun”. According to him, from now on “arbun” name will be given to all beverages of “Brandy” category, produced on the basis of imported alcohol. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian noted that “Armenian cognac” name will be preserved for local producers, who produce cognac on the basis of local alcohol. “We should protect the interests of domestic producers, and the beverages made of imported alcohol will from now on be sold under “arbun” trademark”, Armenian Prime Minister stated.
