Yerevan/Mediamax/. “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” will start working with potential issuers directly, explaining them the advantages of the capital market and assisting their entry to the market.

Mediamax reports that “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” CEO Armen Melikyan said this today.

According to him, if previously the exchange expressed readiness to work with broker and investment companies as to the issue of attracting issuers, now it will independently attract issuers to the market, rendering them the necessity consultation support.

Armen Melikyan informed that the Armenian stock exchange adopts such a style of operation from Baltic States, where this method has proved its efficiency.

Among other reasons for shifting to a new strategy, Armen Melikyan named passivity of Armenian broker companies and investment banks, which is partially conditioned by the financial crisis.

“The process of entering the Exchange takes a long path and one should not wait here, but, on the contrary, one should use the crisis in order to get ready for the entry to the capital market”, Armen Melikyan stated.
