Yerevan/Mediamax/. The prospect of introducing compulsory car civil liability insurance was discussed at the outgoing forum of Armenian insurers, which took place late last week in Stepanakert. The Acting Director of the Armenian Association of Insurers Andranik Ohanjanyan stated in an interview to Mediamax today that the main goal of the forum was to discuss the means of expanding and updating insurance services in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) with representatives of governmental structures and corporate customers. The outgoing forum took place at the initiative of “Prime Insurance Brokers” Company. Representatives of 9 out of 10 insurance companies, functioning in Armenia, participated in the work of the forum. Member of Armenian Central Bank Board Aharon Chilingaryan also participated in the forum. On June 12, participants of the forum were received by NKR President Bako Sahakyan, after which discussions with representatives of financial organizations and business structures of NKR took place. At present, the branch of Armenian “Griar Insurance” Company functions in NKR. Three more insurance companies are represented in NKR at the level of insurance agents and agent offices.
