Yerevan/Mediamax/. Session of the Committee on Legislation, Banks and Finance of the European Business Congress (EBC) on “Management of electric company expenses: post-crisis emphases”, is in process in Yerevan. Mediamax reports that the session is held in Yerevan at the initiative of “ArmRosGazprom” CJSC. “ArmRosGazprom” Deputy Director on Finance and Economy Vahagn Arakelyan informed that the participants of the session will discuss experience of various countries in the sphere of solving legal and financial problems, which have aggravated as a result of the global financial-economic crisis. Vahagn Harutyunyan noted that in 2009 the volume of gas sale in Armenia reduced by 20.3% and this led to decrease in “ArmRosGazprom” incomes. “As a result, for the nearest prospect the company pins hopes on profit not from sale of gas, but from putting the fifth power plant of “Hrazdan” Thermal Power Plant into operation”, Vahagn Arakelyan stated. According to him, as a result of the crisis, the necessity occurred to revise the current approaches concerning the company’s tariff policy, expanding sale markets, making investment decisions and long-term planning of funding. Representatives of gas and energy, finance and business circles from Armenia, Russia and Europe participate in the session. EBC is an international non-governmental non-commercial organization under the aegis of “Gazprom” OJSC, having its center in Berlin. Its main goal is to assist economic cooperation among OSCE member countries by means of developing dialogue between governments and the private sector. Tweet Views 11523
