Yerevan /Mediamax/. Banking system of Armenia was ready to face the global financial-economic crisis, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian stated today. Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference following the results of 2009 today, Tigran Sargsian noted that Armenia became the only country in CIS, in which the government did not have to render assistance to commercial banks. The Prime Minister stressed that in 2009, the deposits of individuals in commercial banks increased by 30%. According to him, this evidences the fact of confidence of citizens for banks. Tigran Sargsian informed that in the I quarter, 2010, a new Fund for securing availability of mortgage credits for young families will start functioning in Armenia. Tweet Views 15496
