Yerevan /Mediamax/. Board of the Central Bank (CB) of Armenia made a decision today to leave the refinancing rate unchanged, establishing it at the level of 5.00%. Mediamax was informed in the press service of CB that there was 0.5% inflation registered in October, 2009, as compared to September, and the 12 months’ inflation index made 3.5%. CB Board stated that now the inflation behavior and developments of the macroeconomic environment correspond to CB expectations. Mild inflationary pressures are still received from outside, the fact being conditioned by the continuing tendency of price growth for raw materials and certain foodstuffs in the global market. “These developments, which take place simultaneously with stabilization of the real GDP, have preserved the activity of the domestic inflation environment”, CB Board informed. CB Board believes that in conditions of continuing tendencies mentioned, the current level of refinancing rate at most contributes to the speedy reestablishment of economy at that without endangering the stability of prices.
