Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian banking system possesses sufficient capitalization to withstand the crisis. Mediamax reports that Chief Executive Officer of “HSBC Bank Armenia” Tim Slater expressed such opinion today. He believes that the crisis prevention measures by the Armenian government, the loan funds from international organizations and positive shifts in Russian economy allow stirring up the Armenian economy. Commenting on the policy of Armenian CB, Tim Slater assessed it as “correct”. He noted that the consistent reduction of refinancing rate stimulates economy. At that, Tim Slater voiced an opinion that in connection with inflationary pressures, increase in refinancing rate, as well as appreciation of national currency may be observed in the beginning of 2010.
