Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ex-Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan and leader of United Labor Party (ULP) Gurgen Arsenyan criticized today the policy, carried out by the current government of Armenia in conditions of the global crisis. Mediamax reports that Hrant Bagratyan stated at the news conference, which took place in Yerevan today, that the steps taken by the government aggravate the consequences of the global crisis even more in the view of the fact that the government factually lacks an anti-crisis program. “In reality, GDP reduction in the first half of the year did not make 16.3%, as the official statistical data presents it, but made 30%”, the Ex-Prime Minister informed. He spoke for making efficient steps to break up the monopoly of the Armenian economy, which will allow significantly reducing the prices for goods and services, concerning which “Yerevan has left even Moscow behind”. As Bagratyan stated, the high prices are inadmissible both from the social point of view and for tourism development. According to ULP Leader Gurgen Arsenyan’s assessment, “the anti-crisis strategy of the government is in reality a smoke curtain, which conceals the non-awareness and inability of the Cabinet of Ministers to effectively overcome the consequences of the global crisis”.
