Yerevan /Mediamax/. Crisis prevention measures of the Armenian government are correctly programmed, but are realized with delay, Director of Development Department of “Ameriabank” Tigran Jrbashyan stated today. Mediamax reports that, speaking at a briefing in Yerevan today, Tigran Jrbashyan gave a positive assessment to crisis prevention measures of the government, noting the necessity of their timely realization. “The situation in global economy continues aggravating, and Armenia should have a system of quick response to the occurring challenges”, Tigran Jrbashyan stated. According to him, the work of the government is slowed down by the fact that it has to simultaneously fight the crisis and secure equal conditions for development of small and medium enterprise, which it did not carry out in the pre-crisis period. Answering the question of Mediamax on the reasons of IMF’s pessimistic forecast for Armenia, as compared to other countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia, Tigran Jrbashyan stated that economic decline is expected in all countries of the region and the specific nature of the global crisis influence on Armenia is conditioned by disproportion of the Armenian economy. “Nevertheless, Armenia is in more beneficial condition, than the countries of Eastern Europe as to the small volume of its external debt, the fact facilitating the process of attracting loans from international structures”, Tigran Jrbashyan summed up.
