At one of the nearest sessions, the Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia will name two companies, which will receive state support basing on a conclusion, provided by the operative staff of the government. Mediamax reports that the Head of Armenian government’s staff David Sargsian informed that among 113 proposals, received by the operative staff, 9 have gained positive assessment, 22 were turned town, 55 proposals were recommended to be reconsidered and to improve projects, and 10-12 proposals are at the final stage of consideration. Talking about the selection criteria, David Sargsian stated that at present the staff is elaborating standards to accept projects and proposals, which in the nearest future will be placed at the official website of the government. “Preference is given to companies, which have already accomplished something and which have occupied their niche in the market, as well as to proposals, which provide for import substitution and growth of export volumes”, Head of the government’s staff started. A large part of the received applications is related to the spheres of agricultural production processing, textile industry, information technologies and scientific products. David Sargsian informed that the approved projects undergo the process of expert assessment by commercial banks, which assess the level of crediting risks. “In fact, the government assesses the risks of the creditor and takes up the role of a mediator between the bank and the entrepreneur”, he summed up. Head of the government’s staff stated that the tools and methods to assist private companies are various: in one case, this assistance represents delays of VAT payments, in another case – a guaranteed bank credit, in third cases – share participation of the state in the capital of the company.
