On June 3, Matenadaran Director Ara Khzmalyan and JTI Armenia Director Viachaslav Golovach signed a memorandum on expanding cooperation.The signing ceremony was preceded by a solemn event dedicated to a decade of partnership between the Matenadaran and JTI Armenia (2015-2025).Matenadaran Director Ara Khzmalyan said that thanks to the cooperation, 68 books and scholarly works have been published over the past 10 years with funds provided by JTI Armenia. He noted with satisfaction that the new memorandum outlines an expanded scope of cooperation and emphasized that the decision to deepen this partnership was reached by JTI in just four to five months.The last 17 issues of the academic journal Banber Matenadarani (Herald Of The Matenadaran) have been published with the support of JTI Armenia. Executive Secretary Gohar Muradyan emphasized that this sponsorship has enabled the journal to be issued twice annually not just once in a year as it was previously. JTI Regional Director Thomas Adams said that the memorandum will provide new opportunities for the preservation and promotion of Armenia’s rich cultural heritage.“The work that is being carried out within these walls is vital, and we are proud to be a part of it,” said Thomas Adams.At the end of the event, Ara Khzmalyan informed that the Matenadaran recently issued a Medal of Gratitude, naming JTI Armenia as its inaugural recipient.
