In the course of the nearest two years, the Asian Development Bank (ADB)## will allocate preferential loan means at the sum of $140mln for Armenia.Mediamax reports that ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda said this, speaking on November 18 at the opening of the bank’s representative office in Armenia. He noted that the loan means will be directed to finance programs, which will be considered priority ones by the Armenian government. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian welcomed the opening of ADB office in Yerevan, noting that the bank possesses huge experience in investment sphere and is a reliable partner not only from the financial point of view, but also in the sphere of technical knowledge and experience. The Prime Minister stated that the spheres of agriculture, water supply, financial sector development, road building and transport are of primary importance for Armenia, and ADB’s support will help reduce the possible influence of the global financial crisis on the country.The Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia Gurgen Sarkisian stated that ADB will provide $1mln of grant means to realize project works on Iran-Armenia railroad construction.
