Yerevan /Mediamax/. Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian stated today that ##the priority “number one” for Armenia should become economy, based on knowledge, and the main resource of the country’s development - intellect of the people.

Mediamax reports that Tigran Sarkisian said this, speaking at the opening of the first labor fair in the banking and financial spheres.

According to Tigran Sarkisian, “revolutionary changes may take place in case the attitude of the society changes, if we understand that the only way to enrichment is knowledge”.

“We together should form psychological atmosphere, where the most important citizen for the country will be the student, the pupil and the child”, the Prime Minister stated.

The Prime Minister singled out two possible models for the development of the educational sphere. According to the first one, the country’s educational institutions bring up specialists, who later on independently search for employment in the labor market. In the given process, special place is occupied by the authority of the higher educational institution, a graduate of which the competitor is. The second model: employers participate in the selection of talented youth, follow the education process, partially paying for it, organize practical work in the workplace, and the student, gaining a diploma, already knows where he/she is going to work. The given model, as Tigran Sarkisian noted, is undergoing experimental stage in Armenia within the framework of Armenian-German cooperation.

15 organizations, representing the banking and financial system of Armenia, are participating in the fair, organized by Career and Graduates’ Center of Yerevan State University.
