Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toghanyan stated that Armenian goods have disappeared from the shopping centers of Russian “Tvoy Dom” (“Your Home”) retail chain.

Talking to RBC on July 23, he noted that these goods were mainly canned food, mineral water and alcoholic beverages.

“Major Armenian exporters have been contacting us since morning, telling that all goods of Armenian origin were removed from shopping centers of “Your Home” entire chain owned by Araz Agalarov and other people from neighboring country,” said the Ambassador.

“At the same time, the shopping centers have been filled with goods produced in Azerbaijan. This is already a provocation aimed at transforming the trade points in Russia into a “Greater Nagorno-Karabakh”, which is fraught with dangerous consequences. We have at our disposal the e-mails between Armenian companies and dealers and the managers of “Tvoy Dom” shopping center. They openly refer to instructions of the management, and talk about suspending acceptance of goods produced in Armenia. It is a fact. I have notified relevant departments about this,” Vardan Toghanyan emphasized.

For his part, General Director of “Armtorg” Company Alexander Babayan told RBC that the company merchandizers entered the shopping center to display the goods and realized that their production - jams, juices, compotes and other canned products were not on the shelves. “The same was in all six stores of the chain - we went around all the stores. There were no goods anywhere. We immediately called all the partners who sell mineral water, alcohol - they said that they had a similar situation, that the trucks were sent back and the goods were not accepted. It all started on Saturday,” said Alexander Babayan.

“Crocus Group” (owner of “Tvoy Dom” retail chain) refused to provide comments.
