Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan had a meeting with Bank of China Chairman Liu Liange in Beijing on November 6.The Armenian government has said that Tigran Avinyan introduced Chairman Liange to the prospects of Armenia’s economic development, including the opportunities for investment in infrastructure, education, SMEs and high tech industry. Liu Liange expressed readiness to strengthen further cooperation, also in the framework of Belt and Road initiative. Tigran Avinyan invited him to visit Armenia to discuss possible joint projects.In conclusion of the meeting, the sides signed a memorandum agreement: Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan on behalf of Armenia and Qatar country manager on behalf of the Bank of China. Under the memorandum, the sides commit to create mechanisms for mutual investment in SMEs and trade service and a platform for facilitating cross-border operation of SMEs, and to jointly study new models for cooperation aimed at supporting collaboration between SMEs.
